A grey Vancouver day and the Royal Caribbean’s Rhapsody of the Seas is at Canada Place getting ready to head off to Alaska.
The Rhapsody’s maiden voyage was in 1997. Most of the time it sails out of ports along the Gulf Coast to the Western Caribbean, but like many other ships it hits Alaska in the summer.
It’s 915 feet in length and weighs 78,491 tonnes. It holds 765 crew and 2,435 passengers.
Rhapsody of the Seas has a retractable canopy and an indoor/outdoor pool with a sliding roof.
It also has a cool rock climbing wall that you can see at the end of the video.

Update: Over on Youtube, jazzamcc pointed out that I made a mistake. Rhapsody of the Seas now sails out of Australia & New Zealand from October – April. Thanks a lot!
