Holland America Statendam At Vancouver Going To Alaska
by dockedcruise The Statendam was built in 1993 and the current one is actually the 5th Holland America ship to be named the Statendam.

It’s 720 feet long and 55,451 gross tonnes. In the winter it does somewhat unique trips like Australia and New Zealand, but in the summer you know where it goes – Alaska! (Where else?).

It holds 1258 pasengers and 557 crew, and is known for its art collection. It has a “Van Gogh Theatre” and a 26′ high sculpture.

Looks like Google Maps likes the Statendam too, as it caught it docked in Lyttleton New Zealand

Thanks to the Flickr feed with anything tagged “vancouver”, I came across this picture that ttcopley took from the Helijet that shows the Carnival Spirit and the Holland America Ryndam docked.

I wonder if you zoomed in close enough you could see me making the Carnival Spirit and Holland America Ryndam videos from this morning.

Back On May 28 I posted a video of the Holland America Ryndam in Vancouver. It was heading to Alaska for a week long cruise, and today it’s back. I took a quick video this morning.

Here is the Veendam, a Holland America vessel.

At least spec-wise and from the outside, it is pretty similar to the Ryndam.

The Veendam is 720 feet in length and weighs 55,759 tonnes. It holds 1258 passengers and 557 crew.

For some reason that I don’t quite understand, the Veendam was dedicated by Debbie Reynolds. Maybe the CEO of Holland America is a Branson fan?
