Carnivals newest cruise ship, the Carnival Splendor arrived for the first time at the new Cruise Terminal of the Port of Málaga, Spain on Thursday 18th of September 2008. This video shows the cruise terminal, the Passenger Boarding Bridge Pegasus and the embarkation of the cruise guests after spending the day in Málaga.
In the summer she sails out of Rome to the Mediterranean and Greek Isles. Here is a video from Rhodes:
The Carnival Freedom is 110,000 gross tinnes and 952 feet in length, so not a small ship by any means. It has a guest capacity of 2974 and has 1487 staterooms.
One feature of the Freedom is a giant LED screen near the Lido deck. Here is a shot of that:
One last tidbit about the Carnival Freedom.. her “godmother” is former supermodel Kathy Ireland. Not entirely sure what a ship’s godmother does but there you go.

The Carnival Victory is one of the Destiny Class ships that starts with a 9 story atrium right when you enter.
It was launched in 2000 in New York.
You can see it here, along with the Carnival Glory, in St. Maarten.
The Carnival Victory is 893 feet in length and weighs 101,509 tonnes. It holds 2,758 passengers and has 1,379 staterooms, 480 of them with private balconies.
The ship has its various bars and restaurants themed after the oceans and seas of the world, so you might be eating in the Caribbean Lounce or the Atlantic Dining Room or hitting the Indian Library.
The 24 hour pizza is also a hit.
The Victory will be sailing out of San Juan, Puerto Rico and doing 7 day cruises around the Southern Caribbean in late 2008/2009.
Carnival ships are called the “Fun Ships” and here is a video that I think shows that.

Thanks to the Flickr feed with anything tagged “vancouver”, I came across this picture that ttcopley took from the Helijet that shows the Carnival Spirit and the Holland America Ryndam docked.
Here’s the Carnival Spirit docked at Canada Place, about to leave for Alaska.
Carnival went all out with the Spirit. It has themed public areas like Art Deco, Chinese, Gothic, etc.
It has a wedding chapel and while it is in Canadian waters, the captain can beform weddings (including same-sex ones of course).
80% of the 1062 staterooms are outside, and 750 have private balconies.
The Carnival Spirit is 960 feet long and weighs 88,500 tonnes. With that size, it’s got 16 lounges and bars and a 2 level gym that has an ocean view from every piece of equipment. Not bad!
