The SilverSea Silver Shadow (coolest name for a cruise ship I know of!) was docked at Canada Place in Vancouver today.
It’s heading off to Alaska on a 9 day trip, hitting Victoria on the way back, and then returning to Vancouver.
The Silver Shadow is one of the bigger SilverSea ships, but as far as the usual ships that hit Vancouver go, is on the small side.
It’s 610 feet long and 28,258 tonnes.
It only holds 382 passengers and 295 crew, which gives it a very high “passenger space ratio” of 74.
The Silver Shadow was launched in 2000.

We are writing on behalf of the Joanne Zelten Cancer Foundation in regards to Tiffany Weeks she is a 24 year old female with Lymphoma, she has been in treatment for four years. She is currently undergoing treatment and staying in Oak Park, Illinois in the house that the foundation provides for patients undergoing cancer treatment. This house is provide to the patients free of charge from donations to the foundation. While getting to know Tiffany she had stated that her life long dream is to take a trip to Alaska and to go to school to be a radiologist. We are reaching out to you to see if you can help us grant one of her wishes and that is her trip to Alaska. I am not sure if you can help in this matter and or can direct the foundation in the right direction to make her wish come true. If you like more information on the foundation you can visit our web site at http://www.joannezeltenfoundation.org. We can also provide you with more information on Tiffany Weeks if need. Thank you for your help in advance and anything you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
The Joanne Zelten Foundation (Denise Riccio Foundation Board Member)
